Beginner Wheel Throwing Classes
Each class series includes 5 sessions over the course of 6 weeks.
Weeks 1-4: Working in wet clay on the potter’s wheel
Week 5: NO CLASS. One week off to allow enough time for work to dry and be fired
Week 6: Glazing (finished work can be picked up approximately 3-4 weeks after final session)
Our beginning classes are perfect for students with no clay experience and those getting back into clay after a long hiatus. Learn the basics of throwing clay on the potter’s wheel: wedging, centering, opening, pulling walls. In this challenging & rewarding process, you will learn to throw cylinder forms & bowl forms, trim feet, and glaze your pieces.
Enrollment fees include clay, use of studio tools, shop glazes, and firings.
All wet clay work must be completed during the first 4 weeks of class.
**Please carefully review the session dates prior to checking out as missed classes cannot be refunded or made up once the series begins.
